I’m running the latest Debian image, so far I’ve…
- mkdir /mnt/boot
- mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /mnt/boot
- nano /mnt/boot/uEnv.txt
and added the following lines…
UART 1
cape_enable=capemgr.enable_partno=BB-UART1,BB-UART2,BB-UART4,BB-UART5
ls -l /dev/ttyO* crw-rw---- 1 root tty 248, 0 May 15 02:50 /dev/ttyO0 crw-rw—T 1 root dialout 248, 1 May 15 02:50 /dev/ttyO1 crw-rw—T 1 root dialout 248, 2 May 15 02:50 /dev/ttyO2 crw-rw—T 1 root dialout 248, 4 May 15 02:50 /dev/ttyO4 crw-rw—T 1 root dialout 248, 5 May 15 02:50 /dev/ttyO5
So as far as I can tell all the UART’s are now enabled using the default settings.
I have a wire connecting the P9 pin 11 and 13.
root@beagle:~# echo “1234567890” > /dev/ttyO4
root@beagle:~# cat /dev/ttyO4
Returns nothing.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks, -Cody
