beagle board intial startup

Hi all,

We are having a beagle board of revision C3.The spec revels that it
come up with X loader and boot loader u boot.
But when we simply connect to the hyper terminal with proper settings
what we are getting only is the X loader line

as…

Texas Instruments X-Loader 1.4.2 (Feb 19 2009 - 12:01:24)

Texas Instruments X-Loader 1.4.2 (Feb 19 2009 - 12:01:24)

why it is not showing the the loading of u boot …???
Do we need to get it boot from the MMC/SD.Yet we will not try
this .since it says that the board comes up with boot loader(u boot)

Can anyone help me please or correct me .

As X-loader is comming-up on the console, hardware seems to be fine. You could try steps given in [1] to reflash U-Boot to NAND by booting from MMC/SD card.

Thanks to the help .....
Everything is ok to me now.The isue was due to unproper grounding
from the the supply.
Now i can check with the SD card.

Thanks

This problem also happens when you feed a too low voltage on power input.

My Beagleboard ran well with as low as 3.9V; when the batteries were drained, the Beagleboard attempted to reboot many times without success (thus printing only the first X-Loader line as reported below).
