Rudimentary LCD4 support was done last week, after the release: kernel/patches/not-capebus/0168-capes-add-basic-support-for-LCD4-capes.patch at 3.8 · beagleboard/kernel · GitHub
It looks like what was missing was the firmware files found in this patch.
Is there a simple guide on how to get this patch installed? I’ve already opkg upgrade / updated to 3.8.8.
