hi If I would like to implement my simple base station on beagle board
do I need another thing to connect or just beagle board is enough

You didn't leave us much to go on. But for starters the BeagleBoard
GPIO
is a 1.8vDC level with about 20mA current sink. Chances are you will
require
something between your BeagleBoard and your "base station". To me a
"base station" represents some sort of two way radio.

Typically there are several alternative ways of implementing
a certain functionality and the final application often
determines which one to choose. Often different functions are also
