[beagleboard] RTOS application

For porting RTOSes like FreeRTOS to Bone, take a look at
http://beagleboard.org/project/starterware. It is a stand-alone
library (no operating system dependencies) that has functions for
controlling the peripherals.

Linux does provide you with multitasking and queues, but perhaps what
you'd like is QNX to provide guaranteed latencies, so take a look at
http://beagleboard.org/project/QNX+Neutrino+on+OMAP.

Yet another possibility would be to use Xenomai (http://xenomai.org)
which is "a real-time development framework cooperating with the Linux
kernel, in order to provide a pervasive, interface-agnostic, hard
real-time support to user-space applications, seamlessly integrated
into the GNU/Linux environment".
