I had a look at the processor specs but did not find anything. I am used to the ARDUINO Mega that has 4 UART with 128 bytes of hardware buffer.

Well, what processor specs did you consult?
The Processor datasheeet (AM3359 data sheet, product information and support | TI.com) says to consult the technical reference manual (spru73h).
