You should probably check the ARM wiki and the very minimum then lookinto omap3. The beagleboard main page has usefull information all about hardware specifics and projects ect..if you want to go xp embedded or even windowze** 7 compact embedded you should look into car pc or the via pico itx u can always go a little cheaper and run xp on a 500mhz amd geode board one neat little piece of hardware I have seen is the fitPC 1st and 2nd gen

Yep its meant and has dependencies on x86 platform, hence difficult to port
on OMAP Based Platform.
