Beaglebone Black Debian 10.3 - root?

Hello,

I installed the Image " AM3358 Debian 10.3 2020-04-06 4GB SD IoT" fromthe official site

I can login in with debian. However I cannot log in with root over ssh.
I can also not sudo with the user debian, it results in debian is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.

How can I get root access?

Thanks
Daniel

Hi @Daniel_Hermann logging in over ssh via root has been disabled for a long time…

These directions are dated, but give you a hint on how to make your device insecure to bot networks…

Hi,

I do not want to remove root password. However of course I tried that too.

I can not only not log in as root, but as mentioned in the OP I can also not sudo. So I do not have any root access at all.

User is: debian
password is: temppwd

if that isn’t working, try re-flashing your microsd, make sure to use balenaEtcher - Flash OS images to SD cards & USB drives

You can grab the latest snapshot from: Beagleboard:BeagleBoneBlack Debian - eLinux.org

Hi,

Again, I can login as debian.
I cannot login as root. I cannot sudo from the user debian.
