Beaglebone Black max HDMI resolution

I flashed my Beaglebone Black with the latest Debian image and to my surprise, the HDMI resolution is 1600x900@60Hz (max. for the monitor I’m using).

I was under the impression that the hardware limitation of the BBB was 1280x1024 due to the 125MHz pixel clock. That was the case while running Angstrom or Ubuntu.

Has something changed? The colors do look 18-bit-ish but I’m not sure what is was before at 1280x1024.

Thanks all.

Max is 1920x1080@24. Always has been since of day one of launch as has the 16bit data width.

Oh OK. So I was working with bad data.

Thank you.

It would appear that is the case.
