BeagleBone Black No Longer attempts to boot without using boot switch

I have a beaglebone black. I have plugged it in to confirm that there is a working flash on the eMMC that I can SSH into. Since then, I have been flashing a mircoSD card and booting from there to try to install some wifi & graphical drivers.

I noticed recently that the beagle bone black no longer attempts to boot AT ALL when I plug in power. None of the LEDs turn on and there is no output in my serial debugger console. Only if hold the boot switch while disconnecting and connecting power does it attempt to boot from the microSD card, if that does not work or there is no microSD card then it goes to the eMMC flash. This tells me that the flash on the eMMC is probably fine.

Again this is not the eMMC boot failing, but the attempt to boot not even happening when I plug in power.

Has anyone experienced this issue? I will need to enclose this beaglebone so it is not sustainable for me to press the boot switch everytime power is supplied.

Thanks in advance! Let me know if there are any logs or files I can send.

With out a serial log showing any clue. There is still a chance the eMMC is reading something and getting stuck in the bootloader.. If you always want to ensure it boots from microSD in your end enviroment, the “button” is wired to the header.. so you could Ground that pin.. “LCD_DATA2 P8_43”

Have you tried backing up any data on the eMMC, and then flashing the image on it, e.g. with a “flasher” image?
