Beaglebone black not powering up

I have a relatively new BBB which I cant boot up, I’ll describe my situation like so:

  1. Installed required drivers mentioned on the site

  2. Connected the board to computer through the cable provided

  3. Only power LED turns on and the other 4 LED’s don’t light up at all

  4. Tried holding down the power button to cycle power, to no avail

  5. Windows gives me the AM335x driver error saying it cant find the driver required

  6. Tried providing external power supply but no change in the situation

  7. The board isn’t even recognized by windows

  8. ‘lsusb’ command on the terminal gives the device id as belonging to Texas instruments, but device isn’t booting the OS

Please advise

Could you try reflashing the eMMC?
