Hello,
I am trying to figure out something…
I can no longer update/upgrade via apt for some reason… Is anyone having this issue with the BeagleV-Ahead?
Seth
P.S. Oh!
You might want to run 'apt --fix-broken install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
bb-usb-gadgets : PreDepends: gt but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt --fix-broken install' with no packages (or specify a solution).
Should be fine now, been prepping things to start our Ubuntu 24.04 (noble) transition for all RISCV builds…
Regards,

Hello @RobertCNelson ,
Thank you, sir. I will attempt another update/upgrade to test some things soon.
New Noble stuff! neat…
Seth
Linux BeagleV 5.10.113-g52fbe8443ea1-dirty is my kernel…
Anyway, I cannot update/upgrade due to the same issue.
Seth
P.S. I will update the kernel and image to a later versioning and test again…
update
Who knows what happened? This one works: Linux BeagleV 5.10.113-20240130+
Something about being a dirty kernel that prevents the update/upgrade via apt?
Obnoxious and belligerent is how you made me so far! Jokes aside, I was having some fun with the Load Cape and some Dayton Motor…9v supply!
Anyway, I decided to help out a bit in case people are not willing to test themselves.
Seth
P.S. And yes, that Load Cape works on the BeagleV-Ahead along with the Fan Cape cooling things off.
Also…I am "full"
grown now and still love to toy it up…
No perfume for me, just straight electricity! Thank you to beagleboard.org for producing the boards and the fun and to an unknown source for the beginner software that handles the Load Cape locations via file descriptors and a specific lib… I got it to turn on and off. I see other entries at cat brightness
!
For instance, the 254 method is there instead of just 1 and/or 0.
Update
Does this mean, I can control brightness
like with PWM instead of GPIO only?
Anyway, off to scour for my source: Oh!
One more thing!
I got it to turn on/off/end…
Forgive me for all the wiring and confusion. I finally got cmake to work too…

Hey Sir,
@RobertCNelson , is there a reason the IP Address on the BeagleV-Ahead keeps changing with each, separate boot?
Seth
P.S. I am just wondering. So, not big woof if you do not reply steadfast and with a prompt reply. I can wait a while.
