BeagleY-AI won’t power on – no 3.3V output even with valid 5V input

Hi everyone,

My BeagleY-AI board suddenly stopped powering on. Even when supplying 5V through USB-C or other valid sources, the board shows no signs of life — the red power LED doesn’t turn on, and the 3.3V rail never comes up.

Here’s what I’ve confirmed so far:

  • 5V input is present and stable
  • Tried multiple power adapters and USB-C cables
  • Disconnected all connected peripherals and headers
  • Still no 3.3V output in any case

It seems like the system fails to initialize power beyond the 5V input. Even with a clean USB-C connection and nothing else attached, there is no 3.3V present and no indication of activity.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue with the BeagleY-AI? Could this be caused by a damaged component, or something related to the board’s internal power sequencing?

I’d appreciate any ideas, similar cases, or tips on what might be at fault.

Thanks in advance!

Try a fresh image on a different SD card, if that does not work then toss it in the trash.

It is a finicky board regarding SD cards. Also when working with this stuff and regardless of the manufacture be sure to use ESD protection. In dry air conditions I have popped boards from static, also have shorted them out when they are not on legs or in a box.
