Bricked Beagleboard xM

While trying to configure the beagleboard to interface with an arduino
through i2c, we seem to have broken the board some how. When we try to
boot from the sD card, it hangs with these output messages on the
serial port

Texas Instruments X-Loader 1.4.4ss (Mar 10 2011 - 11:47:05)
Beagle xM
Reading boot sector
Loading u-boot.bin from mmc

and will never complete the loading process

we tried to use this logic level shifter to raise the voltage from the
1.8V output to 5V for the arduino using this part

Any ideas?

Thanks

You can’t brick an -xM as it has no NAND, but you may indeed have blown it up or damaged the SD card. I tend to think it is the later. Try recreating your SD card.
