Can we do Bluetooth PER(Packet Error Rate) Measurements on BB without using any extra Sniffer Hardware.

Hi,

Has anyone tried doing PER (Packet Error Rate) measurements with Bluetooth devices on Beagle Bone. What package and commands should be used ?

My intention is to use TI’s Sensor Tag as a Bluetooth DUT and query it with BeagleBone to receive Advertising packets from Sensor Tag , measure RSSI ; then move sensor tag away from the Beagle Bone board and observe any packet errors.

Ideally its done by using and extra hardware like TI’s Packet Sniffer dongle and check CRC and FCS. I want to know if something like this can be done on BB without using extra hardware.
