Led’s:
USR0 blinks fast(faster then the usual heartbeat)
USR2 blinks 2x the speed of USR0

BBB 1 week old and has worked properly all the time with putty
and BB.org homepage “Getting started” and VNCserver
only connection is USB, no SD and original Debian-Linux OS and nothing changed

problem---could you find a moment to explain this, for others'
benefit? I hope you don't take the above as your personal credo...

So, with this problem, there are so many possible different causes for this specific failure there is no way anyone can answer this question without more information.
