cant use apt becasue of error with CPU table and no desktop interface

Hello all,
I installed
AM335x 11.7 2023-09-02 4GB eMMC Xfce Flasher
(AM335x 11.7 2023-09-02 4GB eMMC Xfce Flasher - BeagleBoard) onto my beagle bone black and it seemed to work. I was expecting a Debian desktop environment but only get a console environment when connected to HDMI. Am I missing a command to boot into the desktop environment?

Also with this image i’m getting an error when I try and use ‘apt’. I get the error:
E: Error reading the CPU table.

Anybody run into these issues with this image?

Use this version, which should work: Debian 11.x (Bullseye) - Monthly Snapshot - 2023-10-07

Thanks @RobertCNelson, I can boot off my sd card and have the GUI.
I have a problem flashing the eMMC version onto the board however, the LEDs will flash in a pattern and eventually shut off. when I boot I get what seems to be a partially installed image. I saw this with the other image I was trying to flash as well where I have no desktop GUI and apt and other things missing or causing errors.

Your eMMC is either 2GB or 4GB, probably ran out of room

Just use microSD for any ‘desktop’…
