pcbway agreed to fabricate one out of five boards but only partially. I got a new soldering iron and I want to learn how to use it.
I got an e-stop wired on another board and PCB “cape” for this other thing with the new soldering iron. I cannot tell you how silly I felt after purchasing this new soldering iron and using my older one for so long.
There must be a trick or something special everyone else is doing to make their irons work well…
Nope, terrible iron. My iron is not only obsolete from when it was first purchased but also now is only used to push in threaded inserts into plastics for housings and/or neat bots.
Literally, it was not me this time. I could have had a stoking stroke over how many ill-ironed joints were made with that old iron. The one before it, worse.
This new one and plug coming, Weller, is super powerful and quickly handles the solder rosin core types well and with minimal extracting smoke.
Phew and thank you. So, back to business here.
Good soldering iron in the works and a partial fabricated board to test out some random lib that may or may not work well with some specific image that I may find. Aw!
