change keyboard layout

Hello.

I have a Beaglebone running Ubuntu , Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (GNU/Linux 3.2.30-psp23) and my keyboard layout is in US. I would like to change it permanently. Any ideas?

Hi Juan,

Use xmodmap/xkeycaps to remap the keys. Afterwards restart X.

I cannot probe your answer as I am not running X. Thanks anyway . I solved it with the Robert’s answer.
