Create my own product off the BB schematics/hardware/software/yocto?

Here is my question:
I want to create a product based on the BeagleBone HW and SW as well as FW/OS design. Means, I want to use the Schematics, HW design, yocto project, etc., to customize it and run it on my own harware (which is based on the BB) based on this. The project is first closed source, but once I am certain it is of value for others, I plan to make it open source. Maybe I will even sell some, however, I wont do it for profit, only for people who couldnt build the product by their own. And I guess I will donate the money, if it gets any attention at all.

Is that in line with the BeagleBone license and allowed, or may I need to pay a fee or something? I am unfortunately no lawyer and I can read the license, however, I would like to be sure that it is okay for that.

I’d hope the licenses don’t read that bad, but the gist of it is:

  1. Don’t use our logo or other trademarks
  2. Don’t blame us if something goes wrong

Outside of that, feel free to use the schematics and hardware design as you wish. The Yocto sources are released under various open source licenses and I suggest you generate a software bill-of-materials and look at the licenses, but it isn’t anything overly restrictive.
