cross compile toolchain question

I am running Ubuntu 10.10 on my beagleboard-xm. Can I use the cross-
compile toolchain I got from the openembedded/angstrom environment to
cross-compile stuff?

I've been doing this without problem. There may be issues I'm unaware of or haven't encountered.
