Debconf 22 talk "Arm ports update" and year 2038 support for 32 bit Beaglebones (and others).

For those using Debian and Debian-based images, you may be interested in watching the talk from Debconf 22 last month on the general state of Debian ARM. An open question at the moment is how long 32 bit support will be practical, and in particular whether a new 32bit ARM “port” should be made which has ABI changes necessary to support time beyond the year 2038. The talk recording is available here:

https://debconf22.debconf.org/talks/35-arm-ports-update/

… (constructive!) feedback and further discussion should go to the debian-arm mailing list:

https://lists.debian.org/debian-arm/

Development assistance or help testing will be welcome for a year 2038 compatible variant.

Tim.
