Different images; minimal, IOT, xfce

I see on image download page the ability to download minimal, IOT and xfce versions.

Are these all the same kernel builds but with different sets of apps loaded, or are they different kernel builds. I will have to double check but I don’t recall seeing any .config files for the three different options so I am leaning to difference being due to installed packages.

Where can I find out more on each of these images so that I can create what I need using as little memory and disk as possible?

Minimal = enough to bootup
IoT = Minimal plus something for non video out..
Xfce = xfce desktop..

For am335x (Debian 13), i’m just doing “base”..
