Enabling GUI

Hi all,

I am currently working on a project. I intend to use beagle board for it and i am a new linux user. I think i am halfway through. I could succesfully boot ubuntu from beagle board but i am not getting the GUI in my HDMI display. Could some one suggest me possible steps to get GUI on my HDMI display…??
