Encoder compatible with BeableBone Blue encoder inputs

The BeagleBone Blue has connectors for four quadrature encoder inputs. I am looking for encoders that are compatible with these inputs. It is surprisingly hard to find these. Any suggestions?

I am looking for wheel encoders, to be mounted for example on an axis.

The key problem is that the supply voltage provided in the 4 pin JST connectors for the encoders is only 3.3V. Many encoders, such as this one Rotary Encoder - 200 P/R (Quadrature) - COM-10932 - SparkFun Electronics require 5V or higher.

I think this car chassis and motor encoders could work: Pololu - Romi Chassis Kit - Black, Pololu - Romi Encoder Pair Kit, 12 CPR, 3.5-18V ( Romi Encoder Pair Kit, 12 CPR, 3.5-18V). I’m getting a setup and hope to test it out next week, Lord willing. They also have 2.7 volt rated encoders if the 3.3 voltages isn’t going to be suitable.

Have you discovered any other alternatives?
