Files in flash driver appear blank on delivery

Hello all,

I just received my brand new Beaglebone Black and plugged it into my Windoze PC. The correct drivers did not exist on my machine so I downloaded them from beagleboard.org. When the drivers were installed, my mass storage device was detected and opened up in explorer. However, when I double-clicked START.htm, it appeared blank. I tried reading the file with a text editor and there were no characters. The file size is zero bytes. As a matter of fact, most of the files appear blank on the drive. Not all the files are blank. For example, uEnv.txt has 26 bytes, u-boot.img has 370K and MLO has 97.6K.

My environment:

OS: Win XP SP3
Browser: Firefox 21.0

Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions?

This appears to happen sometimes due to an unexplained reason. Usually reflashing the board with the latest image from Beagleboard.org works. The files should be filled after doing that. It’s a software issue not hardware.
