Google Summer of Code

Philip Balister has volunteered to be the Google Summer of Code administrator for BeagleBoard.org.[1] Please visit the wiki page[2], review the application over the next 24 hours, and add your ideas to the idea page in support of having Google accepting BeagleBoard.org as a mentoring organization. If you are interested in mentoring, please contact Philip via Crofton or Crofton|work on the IRC channel[3] or via e-mail.

Ideally, I’d like to see a TI mentor paired with non-TI mentor for each student so that the TI mentor can help provide access to tools, device knowledge, etc. while the non-TI mentor could be more an expert in the open source project area. Having multiple mentors for the student is good to ensure they can contact someone on a frequent basis.
