Hardware XM - RMA

Hi! I have a question about the RMA request. My Beagleboard Hardware xM ver. C just arrived a few days ago, but I can’t use it yet :frowning:
There is a problem with the PMU (TPS65950) of the board. Its temperature get up so high, and I worry about other components.
Under these conditions, this beagleboard is unstable. I can´t use it.
I have a post about it (Beagleboard Hardware XM - TPS65950 Temperature).
In the webpage is the request form, but i don´t know if i have to contact with the beagleboard’s people before sending the board.
Please, can someone help me?

Thanks,

Regards,

You need to see if the board works at all. High is a relative term. The part typically runs around 42 to 45+ degree C. If you hold your finger on it for a while the surface of the skin heats up and tends to keep getting hotter. If you like, you can request an RMA and have them take you through the process to see if the board is working and if there is indeed an issue. I fthere is, then they can repair it.

Fill out the form on the RMA page. It goes to the beagleboard people.

Thanks for your answer Gerald…
But the temperature is higher than 50 degree C!! And as I told you, I’m worried about the components voltage!!
I request an RMA.
Thank you so much!!

Regards,

Sounds like the processor is shorted. Typically that is the case with the I/O pins are shorted.
