How to use RS485 CLICK 5V

Hey everyone,

I recently purchased two BeaglePlay boards and an RS485 Click 5V to test out the click socket. However, I’m having trouble finding documentation on how to use the device.

Does anyone here have experience using the RS485 Click 5V? If so, could you point me in the direction of some resources or provide some guidance on how to use it?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Hello,

Are you using the BBB or the Beagle Play? Click 5v is a 5v board not meant for the BBB. You will need a voltage divider circuit and/or logic shifter.

The BBB, if this is the board you are using, has GPIO pins that are really 3.3v tolerant only due to the am335x.

P.S. I think the BBB, I am almost 100% positive here, never had a click socket on it. Since I can kind of guess you are using the BeaglePlay here and made a typo, I am out. I have not yet owned this drastically updated form of a board. I think others will help once they see you need help w/ the BeaglePlay and not the BBB (BeagleBone Black). Sorry for being confusing.

Sorry I mistyped the name. I meant to write beagleplay.
