Internet on BeagleBoard xM

Hi everyone !

I recently purchased a BeagleBoard xM and successfully booted it
up with the GUI version on Angstrom Linux, which I downloaded from
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/demo/beagleboard/Angstrom-Beagleboard-demo-image-glibc-ipk-2011.1-beagleboard.rootfs.tar.bz2
.

I want to access the Internet on the board, for which I
purchased a Tata Indicom USB Modem, but I cant get the USB modem to
work on Angstrom. Can anybody please give me the driver for the modem
in Angstrom and the subsequent steps which need to be followed to
access internet on the board ?

Thanks in advance
Harsh

Did you see this page: http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardBeginners

See the http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardBeginners#Connect_with_your_beagleboard_using_VNC_and_ethernet_over_USB
section specifically.

Hey Bill !

Thanks for the response. I did check the wiki .... but the
instructions there are for accessing internet through the connection
of my development host right ? Actually my development host is a
computer in my company which is behind a proxy and firewalls, and
company policy prohibits me from using the LAN on any other machine
than my PC. Thats why I purchased the USB modem in the first place.
Can you please tell me how to access internet using the USB modem ?

Harsh

Unfortunately I can't tell you specifically, as I've never done it.
But a quick search yielded this:
