Issue Flashing emmc

I had no problem flashing one BBAI64 board but when I tried on the second one I have this after boot

Gave up waiting for root file system device. Common problems:

  • Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
    • Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?)
  • Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
ALERT! /dev/mmcblk1p3 does not exist. Dropping to a shell!
    (initramfs)

When I boot on the a micro SD I see that that device does exist

I tried both the minimal and xfce versions, same results.

I tried with different sd cards

Any way to go around this issue?

What images have your tried on your microSD? What software did you use to write that image to your microSD? What steps did you take to attempt to flash the board?

With the power plugged in, hold both the USR and RESET buttons, lift off RESET first… this will force the r5’s to boot from the microSD..

Regards,

I used dd. I did that on ArchLinux. I retried it on Gentoo and it worked. Perhaps there are issues with the kernel or dd used on ArchLinux. It was with some work for a big battery company, my current desktop is using Mate so I wanted to see if another one will get me more room. I have libreoffice and codeblocks installed. The flash is a bit small and I don’t want to use external micro SD, too easy for someone to accidentally disconnect it.
The internal flash should be much bigger …
