Issue with Ubuntu 10.10 on beaglexm board

Hi,

I could successfully create a working sd card of my ubuntu10.10 for
beagle board xm...

Then I installed all the necessary packages into that and archived the
sd card to a tar.bz2 file for further usage.
I did all these from my Ubuntu 10.10 PC...

But, now, when I am trying to create a new sd card from the tar.bz2
file from a 10.04 Linux PC it is not working.,..
(Still the same untar-copy is working fine in a 10.10 machine)

The corrupted sd card when boots up, shows the following error
messages.
     1. Could not update ICE authority file /var/lib/gdm/.ICEauthority
     2. There is a problem with configuration server. (/usr/lib/
libgconf2-4/gconf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256)

Can any one help me by explaining the reason?

Regards,
Dhanesh

It sounds like you didn't archive all the important bits on sd card..

as root, i've had good luck with:

tar cvpjf ../backup.tar.bz2 ./*
