Issues installing Ubuntu

I have been trying to install Ubuntu on my Beagle board recently with
little success. I used the netinstall method found at
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#NetInstall_Method . This method
takes forever to complete, I chose to install Ubuntu netbook when
given the option. After everything completed it reboots and goes to an
orange screen and just sits there. I have xM-B and am powering with
USB hooked up to my desktop.

Any suggestions?

Hi Jeff

I have been trying to install Ubuntu on my Beagle board recently with
little success. I used the netinstall method found at
BeagleBoardUbuntu - eLinux.org . This method

Yeap, it will, there's atleast 700Mb of packages it'll need to
download and then install..

After everything completed it reboots and goes to an
orange screen and just sits there.

Little weird, can you share a serial boot log?

I have xM-B and am powering with
USB hooked up to my desktop.

That setup is not supported on the xM.. Plug in a 5volt DC adapter,
the issue you see above can be explained by the kernel crashing due to
lack of power..

Once you add a 5volt DC adapter and it still fail's i'll need that boot log..
