Jack with Ubuntu Natty on xM rev C

Hi,

Right now I'm working on making a Satellite CCRMA SD card image with a
newer version of the kernel that runs on the xM rev C boards.

I just made two very similar SD card images, one using Natty and one
using Maverick that boot on the rev C. I find that I can get jack
audio started in both of them (as long as I am careful to use "sudo
apt-get install jackd1" to get jack 1 instead of jack 2 -- otherwise,
I haven't had success yet to use jack); however, I find that the CPU
usage in Natty seems to be bad even for settings like vector size of

1024 samples, 4 frames/buffer, 16 bit samples, and 44.1kHz sampling
rate

rendering it not very useful for interactive applications with sound.
Does anyone have any idea what I could look at next to find out why/
what is going on?

Thanks,
Edgar
