However, I later found that, the exercises listed on the course are almost a decade old. The tutorials with flashing MLO and UBoot are not working any more, at least for me. When I followed to flash MLO and UBoot with creating partitions on the SD Card, my BBB displayed nothing except “Trying to boot from MMC1” and did nothing ahead.
Googled a lot to solve the problem, but the information is scattered a lot.
Is there any other place, where I get the latest working information or is BBB already outdated to start with or I was too late to start with this?
Some of the stuff like yocto is dated, however the bulk of the book will teach you the basics.
FYI, most of the crap you find on the internet is pure crap. Its only purpose is click bait and other nefarious purposes.
If you want exact information consider the source, good example is if you are looking for networking and cloud deployments. DigitalOcean sells hosting and other services so they are going to have accurate information because they have skin in the game, others are out to exploit web visitors. Another one is GTK, if you need help all the good information is on their website.
If you get it straight from the source and vet the source before making changes you will have much greater success. Much of the stuff on youtube is meant to mess you up not help.
If you are using the Ti sdk instructions for sdk-09.03.05.02 they have some issues and it will not run out of the box. I did fix it and it runs the full Ti demo on the bbb. If that is the yocto instructions you are following that is huge image.
It also takes 350gb of disk space and 60gb of swap on nvme to build. It does have some really cool tools with it.
