Lilliput DisplayLink Monitor UM-70 compatible with Ubuntu?

Hello everybody,
I have been thinking about buying the Lilliput DisplayLink Monitor
UM-70. However, I wanted first to make sure it will be compatible with
my system.
I have been using Linux version 2.6.32.7-x7.0, Ubuntu 4.4.1-4ubuntu8
in my BB REv. C4 and I think it should work fine but if anyone could
share their experience with this display, it would be appreciated.
Best regards,
Frederico Lima

For what it's worth, I have it working on a BB-xM with the Canonical Ubuntu Maverick 10.10 image and kernel 2.6.35-22.

I followed _all_ of the steps here:

including the fix in the comments for: error: xf86Resources.h: No such file or directory.

Thanks for your answer Jan!

I followed _all_ of the steps here:
http://mulchman.org/blog/?p=90
including the fix in the comments for: error: xf86Resources.h: No
such file or directory.

I have done all the steps until the following point:
cd udlfb
make

When I enter the command “make”, I get the following error:
make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r `/build SUBDIRS=/root/Desktop/udlfb/
modules
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.32.7-x7.0/build: No such file or directory.
Stop.
make: *** [all] Error 2

I during the previous points, it was a suprise for me that the
following file took, in case, couple minutes to be downloaded:
wget http://projects.unbit.it/downloads/udlfb-0.2.3_and_xf86-video-displaylink-0.3.tar.gz
Any ideas what the problem could be?

Udlfb should be in the kernel’s staging directory, you just need a newer, then the 2.6.32 kernel your using…

No idea which distro your running, lucid, or maverick etc…
You can find the latest here http://rcn-ee.net/deb/lucid/LATEST use the stable one… (download the install-me.sh and run on the beagle). Major change between you kernel and anything new is ttyS2 → ttyO2 name for the serial port…
