I posted the attached message and patch to the UVC mailing list, but got no reply. I am reposting it here as I found the problem using UVC cameras on the BBB. Hope this is of some use.

In order to make pan and tilt work on 3.8.13 I found I needed to apply the following patch to kernel sources. I am very much a UVC newbie, so I don't know if this is correct. Please advise. Best regards, Dave.
