Looking for DRM framebuffer examples

I have an example[1] of how to write directly to the framebuffer on the xM using /dev/fb0. I want to update the example to work on the BBB.

Does anyone know of some examples/tutorials that show how to write directly to the framebuffer via DRM on the BBB?
