Mechanically detaching an expansion board

Looking for guidance (design tips) on how to safely (without excess mechanical strain) detach an expansion board of my own design from BBBW.

I am a novice at everything but detaching things, i.e. sort of. Anyway, I really have to be very careful too. Pins are pins and pins are weak. They bend, snap, and deform easily. Use both hands and go slowly.

I typically use a staple remover. I work alternately from each of 4 corners and create some separation, perhaps just a millimeter or 2, then do the same at the opposite corner.

I should add, I’m not talking about one of those pinch-style removers…

I’m talking about one of these…
