microSD Card Slot

I don't like the 6 & 1 card slot on Rev C4. I have ran into several
problems where the card detect or write protect fail. It seems to be a
common problem with SD and Mini SD card slots.

I would like to change to something similar to this:

for my own board design. I need this to work with the larger capacity
micro SD cards. I know there are situations where only 2GB cards or
less can be used. I want to avoid that limitation. So how should I
connect this card slot in place of the current 6 and 1? I'm not sure
which pins should go where. Will the card slot I selected above even
work?

Yes, it should work. I suggest you look at the -xM version schematics as it also uses the micoSD connector on it and you can use it as a reference on how to connect the 8 pins it uses plus the CD function.
