NAND flash interface to OMAP3530

hi all,

i am working on OMAP3530CBB package,

i need to interface to two SLC NAND flashes to the GPMC

NAND flash size is 16Gb, 1.8 v, 16 bit.

so the toatal memory is 32Gb.

is it possible to use 200MByte for booting embedded OS and remaining
for MASS storage Device (around 3.8 GByte).

please tell me how to do it..

thanks and regards

200MB + 3.8Gb = 32Gb?

hi

i mean some portion of NAND flash is reserved for Linux OS and remaining portion for MASS storage application.
two NAND flashes with 16Gb each (total is 32Gb) are interfacing GPMC CS0 and CS1.
so the totsl memory is 32Gb.

my question is…
is it possible to use 2Gb for x-loader, uboot, image etc…
and remaining portion (around 30Gb) for MASS storage application.

yes, it is possible.

Are you asking as a electronics engineer or as a software engineer?
The answer will be different.

hi,

thanks a lot,
i have selected SLC NAND flash’s. part number is MT29F16G16ADBCAH4-IT.
internal details are 16Gb, x16, 1.8v, VFBGA, SLC,
page size 2k , number of dies are two…
interfacing 2 NAND flashes to GPMC CS0 and CS1 respectively.

shall i go ahead with these NAND flash’s, using for Booting as well as Mass storage applications?

thanks and regards
