Thanks for the information. Can I know if you have any information on
usage of these tools on beagle board? I am curious to know if these
have already been ported and being used on the board widely.....

Both are ported and running...
Do a Google search on "beagleboard gimp" and "beagleboard mplayer" and a lot
of info will popup...
