Just got a nook and rooted it. It looks like the boot kernel used to
noot the nook might be a cousin of the angstrom kernel. Has anyone
done work on porting Angstrom to this device? It seems like it should
have some commonalities with the BB, being an OMAP core and all that.

I think they are both "linux" kernels

Yes, Nook color is reported to be an OMAP3621 which is a variant of
the one used on the BB XM.
of course you will need to adapt the board file to match the
nook hardware.
