Old monitors and S-video output

Hi,

Can I use a HDMI to VGA cable to use my existing CRT monitors? My
current monitor supports 1280x1024 and 1280x720.

For the S-video out would I need a TV which supports 1280x720 which I
suppose is the minimum standard for a HDTV?

Can I use a TV as the monitor? I am thinking of a small LCD USB panel
for travelling and a TV at my desk perhaps.

Can both a monitor and TV be used at the same time?

Cheers. Andrew.

No, BB only delivers the digital signals.

No. I use s-video with someting like 7xx to 4xx

You can use s-video, yes. And you can have all output on s-video, yes.

Can both a monitor and TV be used at the same time?

Yes (when monitor=DVI and TV=s-video), even with different output.

If he really has an *HDMI* to VGA converter, it should work. Such a
thing would have to use the digital signals since HDMI doesn't include
analogue signals.

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies.

It seems TV's are too bright to use for long as a monitor.

Also I was not aware digital cameras generally have more colour bits
than monitors.

Cheers. Andrew.
