Saw some earlier posts on omniORB. I am looking into cross-platform
component frameworks for a project and omniORB seems to get thumbs up.

Any tips before I wade in or is it plain vanilla "build (curse,
tweak)*" stuff?

There is a recipe for omniorb in OE. I'm not sure if it is in the
ANgstrom feeds though. It has worked well for me in the past.

If you are looking for good communication middleware solution, I would
also recommend to take a look at the ZeroC's Ice Embedded:
http://www.zeroc.com/icee/index.html . It works fine on BeagleBoard.
