OpenCv Acceleration on Beagleboard

Hi,

I have my Beagleboard –XM rev. C running Angstrom. Installed OpenCv and testing some face-detection algorithms with a webcam sucesfully. The problem is that the detection is pretty slow. It has a delay of around 3.5s respect real life facts.

I really don’t want to mess with DSP unless is the last option (Don’t know anything about DSP yet). Is there a way to accelerate OpenCv onbeagleboard without messing with DSP?
