OTG USB problem on REV B board

Hi,
I have a Rev B beagleboard and im trying to put an ubuntu 9.04 on a
sd card as mentioned here:

include downloading the files from here:
http://code.google.com/p/beagleboard/downloads/list

Now i want to have the usb OTG connection become a host,
I connect pin 4 to pin 5 as explained here:
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardFAQ#USB_OTG_connection_.231

I can boot from the SD but the BB cant find any of the USB devices...
Can someone help me solve my problem?

Hi,

Disable USB Gadget mode and Enable USB HOST mode in your kernel config.
Recompile the kernel and load the uImage.
