I’m planning on ribbon cable daughter card to the BB. But, I’m having a tough time finding the hardware needed for the attachment. Is there any place where I could find the ribbon cable with female connectors at both ends and has 2x14 pins? After a hard search in my local electronics store I found the make pins I need to solder to the boards.

Not that I know of. That configuration is not that common of a configuration for ribbon cables. You can always use a larger size and just connect it to one side, leaving the extra pins on the ribbon cable unused.

Well! the ribbon cable it self is not my problem. I can always leave the un-used wire hanging around, as you suggest . My problem is the female connectors. I can’t sees to find them in 2x14 configuration.

Well, you can buy them in a longer version and cut off the extra pins. Some of them are snapable. You can even get two single row versions, snap off the extra pins and put them in side by side. Or, you can actually buy these in a 24 pin configuration from a company call Major League Electronics, but it may take a few weeks to get them.
