Power Measurement on BeagleBoard

Hi,

I'm trying to build a power-efficient video server using omap35x
platform, I need to do some power measurement to verify my algorithm.
I know that TI's EVM have several jumpers to do the power measurement
for VDD1/VDD2/EVM.
For Beagleboard, can I use a digital multi-meter connect to the pins
of the chips to do the same thing?

Or is there any resource available for me to figure out the pins'
definition on the BeagleBoard's back ?

Link for TI's solution: http://wiki.davincidsp.com/index.php?title=Measuring_Power_on_the_OMAP35x_EVM

Thanks.

Regards,

Eric

Hi Eric,

There is no non-destructive way to measure current in the single power rails
(VDD1/VDD2/etc) on the BeagleBoard - For that you would need the EVM board
or similar. You can however easily measure the boards total power
consumption using J2 - For further information please refer to the
BeagleBoard SRM chapter "8.2.5 Meter Current Measurement"

Or is there any resource available for me to figure out the pins'
definition on the BeagleBoard's back ?

You can find all the design material for the BeagleBoard at:
