Pre-ordering beagle bones from Digi-Key Internationally

Hi,

I wanted to preorder 2 beagle bones from digi-key, but when adding
them to my order I got the message:

"Due to U.S. export controls, we are unable to add this item to your
order."

Is this intentional? I wanted to ship them to New Zealand.

Hello Tapio - had the same issue yesterday - one source telling me it is not
possible due to export restrictions, the
other claiming that it is possible, and www.watterott.com was also not
responding on my request.

Finally I contacted Mouser and they accepted my order - they expect shipment
of 2.4k units arriving 2nd half of this month.

When will be availiable in India…? Are there any Distributors of Beagle Bone in India…?

You need to fix your date, it comes out as 2009.

Talk to customer care of digi-key.

This always happens on a new board. Please give the distributors time to work out these issues. Make sure you provide ALL the information you are requested for. US laws will need to be followed to get these boards as is the case with all BeagleBoards sold.

I had hoped that this would be some configurable setting on the part of the supplier and so posted here. So is it going to be impossible for me to pre-order beaglebones from New Zealand?

Yes. I know! My attempts at explanation seem to be, shall we say, lacking. We are working with D/K to resolve. If not resolved tomorrow, we will mark them as US only. Then you will need to go to the other distributors.

We go through this on every new board. We went through it on BeagleBoard and Beagle-xM.

Why? I guess you need to ask D/K.

Sorry, I actually posted the above before I read your message (I
didn't have notifications on, I've never really used google groups
before). On Michel's advice, I have now happily ordered 2 from
Mouser :slight_smile:
